The Great Search
Acquiring Lola was no small task. With Pam, you know it's gonna be tough to find something that will please. For once, she had but 5 simple requirements: she wanted a convertible, (it was for a midlife crisis after all) she wanted it old, she wanted it affordable, easy to maintain, and she wanted it running. So where do you start a search for something like that? Ebay of course! With lots of research, in September 2011, Pam decided that she wanted a 1975 Triumph Spitfire 1500. The man they wanted to buy it from had gotten it from his grandfather. It was the grandfather's car until he passed away, and he left it to his grandson. This man was now moving and had no place to put it, so he had to sell it. There was a stressful 2 weeks in the house, as we debated whether he had sold it yet or not. Finally came the only free weekend and Pam and Rick took the horse trailer (of course) to man's house, and 4 hours later they returned with a "mimosa" (more on that later) convertible. Sure it needed substantial body repairs, but you could tell it was a start of something great when it started up and drove out of the trailer into the sunlight.
